The upgrade to Ubuntu "Lucid Lynx" happened without surprises or incident. The hardware is an Asus EeePC 1000-HE that I've named "Toki" after the character in Metalocalypse.
One thing I noticed right away is that the screen is a lot crisper. No change in resolution, per se, but wow... noticeable difference. Most certainly some display-driver magic going on here.
Of course, I already can't wait for the instant-on and dual-boot features that Canonical has planned, plus the netbook enhancements that are on the way in "Maverick Meerkat." (Any attention to the fact that this EeePC has 600 vertical pixels maximum would be very welcome.)
Why do I play with Linux? Find out over at the old blog.
